History |
Johann Puch commenced building bicycles in 1889 in Graz, Austria. Puch's company became successful through innovation and quality handicraft and consequently began producing motorcycles and mopeds. In 1912 Johann Puch retired and became Honorary President .The same year the company produced no less than 16,000 bicycles and 300 motorcycles and cars annually. In 1928 the company merged with Austro-Daimler to form Austro-Daimler Puchwerke and then in turn in 1934 merged again with Steyr AG to form Steyr-Daimler-Puch.
