This is a German example, hence the Champion name, not Champion Mondial. Bought as a bare frame and fork (with pantographed shifters) from Berlin on Ebay. Long point lugs nicely filed down, Cinelli BB, Gazelle logo on brake bridge and fork crown. Not sure of the date - it has new style 753R stickers, but measures as metric tubing, which is what early 753 was produced as (apparently). However it has also been suggested on the Web that Reynolds just produced whatever they felt like! The frame number dates it to 1984. |
