Founded by Ernie Clements, one of the greatest post-war bicycle racesr who won the British national road championship three times between 1943 and 1946. The Falcon name struck out on its own from its Coventry Eagle precursor in 1970. Falcon was purchased by a British cycling conglomerate in 1978 and continued producing frames under the Falcon name well into the 1980's. Falcon also produced a number of frames under different names, including Eddy Merckx, for sale in English (and likely US) markets.
