Model General Information
The Roadwinner model was designed as a lower end race bike of Koga Miyata's portfolio, however with clear ambition for sports and training. It was produced between 1979 and 1993 according to the available archived catalogues on the Koga Miyata website. The first models were steel whereas the latest frames were made from carbon/aluminum. The steel of the earlier models was called "high manga" obviously a mixture with high Manganese content and a proprietary steel material used by the Koga Miyata frame factory as not seen on other bikes/frames. The design / color of the frame and the set of components was changed almost every year, but Shimano components were used throughout mostly. So this model was developed with time as all other Koga Miyata race bikes of the upper and top model lines (e.g. Full Pro)
