History
Gnutti Carlo S.P.A. was founded in 1920 (according to their website: http://www.gnutticarlo.it). They were a machining company that made parts for agricultural machines. The website states that "During the second World War the production was forced to manufacture parts for weapons." After the war, they started making bearings and bicycle components. They appear, again, according to their website, to have stopped manufacturing bike bits in the 1960s.

One confusing element of this company's branding is that their logo was almost identical to the early Ofmega logo. The Gnutti logo faces right, wereas the Ofmega eagle faces left. This has led people to believe that they were, in some way, connected. However, "Art Deco" eagles appear to have been common currancy as far as Italian logo designers are concerned. It has been said that the Perrotti brothers worked for Gnutti in the 1970s. How this ties in with Gnutti pulling out of the industry in the 1960s is yet to be understood.
