Known for their black plastic (Delrin) derailleurs during the "bike boom" of the 1970's, they were at the forefront of innovation over the years, producing such highly regarded items as the Super LJ derailleurs, Retrofriction shifters, and very popular line of seat posts. |
History |
First started with a 2 speed rear derailleur. Le Simplex was produced by Lucian Juy, ran a bike shop in Dijon.
they had numerous models over the years- Tour de France Juy 51 Juy 543 Record 60 Criterium Prestige Super LJ Super Competition Bankrupt in 1985 ,they have resurfaced a few times since then.
The marking "Brevete SDGD" = Patent Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement. More explicitly SDGD patents are issued "without prior examination, at the peril of applicants, and without warranty of the reality, novelty or merit of the invention, the fidelity or the accuracy of the description. |
