History |
Gerrit Bontekoe (1895-1926) was a decent track racer, especially successful on the tandem. A bad fall ended his racing career, and in 1922 (or 1925?) his friends helped him set up a bike shop in The Hague. His son, Gerrit Bontekoe jr, a successful track racer in his own right, took over the shop after WWII and these days the shop - which still exists - is run by the third generation.
