Manufacturing of bicycle parts was a sideline in Walter (based in Prague - Jinonice); the main focus of production were aero-engines. Walter produced cranksets, chainrings, front and rear derailleurs, shifting levers and pedals. These were the best quality bicycle components made in the late 1980s and early 1990s Czechoslovakia.
