Everton started in Odense, denmark, on 13 February 1935, with spare parts and components for bicycles. They sold bicycles made by the local manufacturer, Børge Kildemoes but at the start of the 1950s, decided to find a name for their bikes. The market was than dominated by many German bicycle names, which were not very popular just after the war, so they chose an English-sounding name : Everton. The Everton name was sold to competitors Smith & Co. (SCO) on January 1, 1995.
