General Information
American Classic is a company which specializes in light weight cycling components including water bottle cages, seat posts, hubs, wheels and more.
History
American Classic was started by Bill Shook in 1981 with the development of their first light weight bottle cage and seat post models.  Bill Shook is a former member of the United States National Cycling team and developed and built the first large diameter aluminum tube frame in 1974 which he raced himself.  After retiring from racing, Bill went to school to get a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University.  Mr. Shook started American Classic because he believed "high quality components can be produced for a reasonable price without gouging the consumer."
