| The Ken Evans frames were steel and lugged.The use of 753 Renolds tubing was commonly applied. The usuage was commonly for road racing although some rather beautiful time trial frames were also produced. A notable example of these was the LoPro model which featured the highly curved top tube.Today the bikes are highly regarded and sought after by some. |

| Former racing cyclist Ken Evans started building frames in Victoria (Melbourne?) from the late 1970s . Predominantly the frames were road frames in steel .They were custom made for their customers wishes. The 'made to order' frame in the mid 1980s took normally six weeks between order and delivery .A payment of a deposit and measurements were the normal requirements. Owners to this day report that the frames and bikes when delivered exceeded the owners expectations because they were finished to such a pleasing standard. Ken Evans utilised Renolds 753 tubing for which he was factory certified.It appears that the high quality of his frame building is today more appreciated than it was at the time and that perhaps he did not get quite the credit that he deserved. The frames were very soundly built with a lot of nice details, functional without fuss,Evans took an engineer's approach to his craft and raised the standard of frame building in Australia. |
