General Information
The first version of the Super LJ front derailleur: arm on the front, hollowed clamp axle working as a cable guide, engraved plate. On the later version (early 70's), the arm was positioned on the rear. The change was probably motivated by the fragility of the hollowed clamp hinge, which is reported to break easily.

Details:   The best of the Simplex lines of components.  Consisted primarily of Front and Rear Derailleurs as well as Shifters.  The SLJ designation was also given to other parts occasionally such as seat posts.

Known for their black plastic (Delrin) derailleurs during the "bike boom" of the 1970's, they were at the forefront of innovation over the years, producing such highly regarded items as the Super LJ derailleurs, Retrofriction shifters, and very popular line of seat posts.
