General Information

Biofitting version of the Centaur lever.  This version allowed users to adjust the position and reach of the lever by rotating the lever 180 degrees.  Which changes the shape of the lever, allowing either the inner or outer two fingers of the hand to be used for braking.

Details:  Centaur was introduced late 89 (1990 model year from what I can gather) as a minimalist version of their Euclid MTB group set.  The first version was essentially the same as Euclid with some subbed out parts such as the brake levers, a freewheel hub and a few other parts.  In late 1990 the group was revised to the form it would have until it was discontinued in the mid 90's when Campagnolo exited the MTB market.
