During the early 1970s Campy 1060 vertical dropouts were used on a lot of time trial bikes in the UK. The bikes had very short chainstays, some even had curved seatubes to shorten the wheel base for more rigidity. Vertical dropouts made for easier wheel changes. These dropouts were about 4mm thick vs. 6mm+ for Campy 1010 horizontal dropouts. Many builders used to braze flat U shaped washers on the inside and or outside of the dropouts to make up the difference in width between the 1060 rear dropouts and the standard 1010 forged dropouts. Probably for wheel standardization in racing. They also removed the fender eyelets on these TT frames. I don't think that the 1060 dropouts were in the Campagnolo catalogs after 1968 but they were available through the mid 70s.
